About
Planning a motorcycle adventure in Japan can be challenging. With unfamiliar roads, rental hurdles, toll systems, and cultural differences, it’s easy to feel unsure of where to begin.
Satoshi Rides was built to simplify that journey. This is your dedicated resource for exploring Japan on two wheels. You’ll find legendary routes, essential tips, and cultural insights drawn from real riding experiences across the country.
This isn’t just about getting around. It’s about discovering Japan in a way that’s immersive, rewarding, and full of surprises.
Who’s Behind the Handlebars?
Hi, I’m Satoshi — born in Japan, raised in the U.S., and forever chasing the next twisty road. I started riding in Boston back in 2011 when a friend convinced me a motorcycle would save time and money. (Spoiler: it didn’t. It just sparked an obsession.)
Since returning to Japan in 2017, I’ve chased mountaintop views, zipped along seaside roads, and wandered into sleepy valleys where time moves a little slower. Riding a motorcycle here opens doors — locals wave, strike up conversations, and sometimes hand you fruit for the road. With Satoshi Rides, I’ll help you experience that side of Japan the one that’s scenic, full of surprises, and just a little bit weird in the best way.

Why I Ride — and Why I Share It
To me, riding isn’t about the destination. It’s about the long way around, the unexpected noodle stops, and the misadventures that become the best stories.
I believe in:
Kaizen: Every ride — and every mistake — makes us better.
Real connection: Even when words fall short, shared smiles go a long way.
The magic in between: The unplanned moments are the ones that stay with you.
Satoshi Rides exists to help you not just see Japan, but feel it — one curve, one connection, and one unforgettable ride at a time.
